Private Hercules has found a home. Yup – Private Hercules McGraw: Poems of the American Civil War, the manuscript I finished about 6 months ago and, poem by poem, has been the spine of this blog for almost a year, is going to be published. Thank you Anaphora Literary Press.
I’m now in the business of finding a piece of cover art, obtaining back cover blurbs (and I have two great blurbs thus far – from noted Civil War historians), and making final edits.
This poet is a happy poet. Again I say HUZZAH!!

Thanks, JD. Can’t wait to send you a copy. All the best.
Today, durring reenactments and in various other places, I see the word HUZZAH frequently used. I know that it was a term used by the British Soldiers during the Revolutionary War. However, I can find no reference to its use during the American Civil War. Any help researching this term will be most appreciated.

I’m on it, Don. Thanks for stopping by.
